You’re interested in EdgeX, you want to get hands on with the code and connected with community, but don’t know where to start? In honor of our mascot, the Octopus, here are 8 Steps that will set you on your way:
Step 1: Sign up for the Discussion Forum for real-time collaboration
Step 2: Bookmark the EdgeX Wiki and EdgeX GitHub (your primary sources for documentation and code)
Step 3: Watch the “Getting set up as an EdgeX developer” Tech Talk
Step 4: Sign up for the TSC Mail List, as well as any other mail lists that may be of interest
- TSC Mail List is an over-arching list that sits atop the various Projects/Working Groups and is the best list to keep an eye across the project
- By signing up for a mail list, you will also be added to a particular group’s weekly/bi-weekly meeting invites. Alternately, you can always email firstname.lastname@example.org at any time to request to be added to a particular mail list and/or meeting invite.
Step 5: Now it’s time to get hands on with the code! Visit our Getting Started Guide for Users / Developers
Step 6: I found a bug! Now what? Please visit our Contributor’s Guide for steps on making your first contribution into the project. And Thank You in advance!
Step 7: The world needs to know how great EdgeX is! How can I help promote? Glad you asked – Leverage the EdgeX Meetup Program!
Step 8: My company wants to join with the 70+ other members supporting EdgeX. Where can I point them? Please direct them to the URL below, or have them email email@example.com
